HEAR WHAT PEOPLE HAVE TO SAY ABOUT EUROPEAN SCHOOL OF MUSIC...
"My son, Daniel, began taking piano lessons when he reached 5. He had a wonderful teacher and supportive family members. He learned that keeping up with practice was easier than catching up and even with an active sports life and serious homework, he not only stuck with it but grew from learning to play the piano. He will tell you that it helped him in school and playing classical, jazz and rock didn't hurt his social life either. Giving Daniel the opportunity to learn to play the piano at The European School of Music and Chess (he also took chess lessons and liked that as well) was the greatest gift I could have given him. Great school!!"
- Michael Cohen, attorney, father of Daniel Cohen, European School of Music graduate
"The European School of Music helped shape the musician that I am today. From my studies at the School I learned how to develop my own individual voice at the piano and was offered a unique approach to music and art. The techniques and methods I acquired prepared me for my journey as a pianist in the professional music world."

"The school taught me about the meaning behind each song, the emotions in it, not just the notes ... everything that I've learned at the school will stay with me forever."
- European School of Music graduate, Dr. Christina Theodoris, MD/PhD of Harvard's Boston Children Hospital
"For beginners and advanced students, the European School of Music teaches a special appreciation for music, emphasizing the skills of appreciating, understanding, feeling and interpreting classical and contempory styles."

"... she (Angela Oyzboyd) possesses a beautiful touch, with a high technical command of the instrument."
- Yoel Levi, Music Director Emeritus, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra
"I am old enough and have had enough instruction in my life to appreciate how lucky I am to find the European School of Music. Within a short period of time after coming to the school I am able to make the piano come alive."
- Laura Murphy, Adult Student at the European School of Music
"It has been very interesting to me to watch my grandson develop his appreciation of music. Scott is a very athletic and social young man. We can now add to his via, a real love of music -- the European School of Music has tapped into Scott's musical talent, challenged him and keep him extremely interested and eager to learn, helped him develop an appreciation of ... music --- that will continue throughout his lifetime.
- Mary Ella Gaujot, grandmother of student Scott Metzloff
"Jenny has experienced a huge improvement during only 5 months of studying piano at The European School of Music after four years of previous instruction. Jenny actually enjoys practicing every day now, without our having to remind her. Holly [her sister] had never played guitar before, but after only 5 months she successfully performed at the school recital. Holly's instructor teaches all the fine points of guitar techniques and makes lessons fun."
- Mr. & Mrs. George Lane, parents of Jenny and Holly Lane, students attending The Westminster School
“Four of my children have taken music lessons for many years. They play a variety of instruments in their college and high school bands and middle school orchestra. I have noticed that starting with pain lessons through the European School of Music as my two youngest daughters dis at the age of six helped them to learn their other instruments more proficiently.
Of course, it is never too late to learn to play the piano, my oldest daughter started lessons at the European School when she was twelve and played almost all the way through high school because she felt piano supported her saxophone playing. In addition to piano lessons, my middle daughter started taking violin lessons through the European School four years ago when she was eight years old.
There is something very unique about these lessons compared with lessons they’ve taken for their other instruments. At the European School, they are encouraged not just to mechanically play the music, but to consider, for example, the time period in which the music was composed, and the emotions the composer may have wished to convey.
I think being taught to engage in this type of critical thinking through their piano and violin lessons has helped my students to be good students, with particularly high grades in math. I recently realized that they are also good in sports that require memorization of long routines, keeping a beat and pacing oneself such as in gymnastics, cheerleading and cross country running.
I credit the teachers at the European School for helping to develop those skills through their music lessons. As they have gotten older and have many interests outside of music, it has helped to keep them motivated in their musical studies to realize that not only do these lessons allow them to perform beautiful music, but to help them excel in other areas as well.
For all these benefits, and for developing a long lasting love of music in children, I highly recommend the European School of Music.”
- Laura Tribou, mother of 5 children
“The best music education I have ever had. I have taken lessons from many teachers over the years but European School of Music has had the greatest positive impact on my ability to express the deep emotions in the music. When life is difficult, I go to the piano and get lost in the music. It's a wonderful relaxation."
- Peter Cranwell, adult piano student
“My 8 year old daughter has grown up with an appreciation for classical music and the arts. She writes songs and poems and I wanted to find a place that would allow her to use all of her artistic gifts and write the music which I believe lives inside her.
After my first conversation with Angela Oyzboyd, director of European School of Music, I knew I had found the right place. Angela has an incredible history and background, and has a passion and focus devoted to educating and healing children through music. She was invested in helping my daughter develop to her fullest potential and was committed to finding the perfect teacher for my daughter's sensitive nature.
My daughter has been studying with Ms. Rosi for the past month and is having a wonderful experience. Rosi is very sensitive and patient and also inspires and encourages my daughter.
I highly recommend the European School of Music to anyone interested in exposing your child to a musical environment that reaches beyond the basics and will benefit your child on so many levels.”
